About Emily Loftus Ewing
Hey, I’m Emily! I am an educator who is passionate about helping students find their fit! I’m a born and raised Floridian who loves to travel and enjoys the beauty my state has to offer. I grew up in the small city of Oviedo and played competitive volleyball throughout my childhood. Out of high school, I played NCAA Division I volleyball at Florida International University. I also had stops at Daytona State College playing NJCAA Division I and Ursuline College (Cleveland, OH) playing NCAA Division II volleyball. I knew I loved the sport and wanted to chase a career in it, becoming the Assistant Volleyball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Southern Arkansas University.
Knowing I wanted to be back home in the Florida sun, I moved back to follow my family's steps into education- never a field I had seen myself going into. I quickly learned that education was my true passion. I started my educational journey as a US History teacher at a large public school in Orlando, FL. I saw myself wanting to expand my reach in the world of education and entered into school counseling. I then became my school’s college and career counselor with a caseload of 990 seniors (4,000 students total). All while being my school's head volleyball coach and beach volleyball coach. I also coach for the #1 ranked volleyball club in the state- OTVA! Serving my school in both the academic and athletic realm has allowed me to see just how much our students have to manage while trying to make their biggest life decision as a high school student- College!
With over 7 years of experience as a college and career counselor, I understand just how competitive the college application process can be. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds, each with unique goals and aspirations. This has allowed me to research and guide students toward finding the right college fit, ensuring they make informed decisions for their futures. My specialties include college application assistance and essay writing, where I help students craft standout applications that highlight their strengths. Additionally, with an extensive background in college athletics and recruiting, I’m well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the athletic recruiting process.

I am a proud member of the Rollins College Counselor Advisory Board, a Cambridge Education Leader, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), as well as the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC). As a Florida-certified teacher, I am dedicated to providing students and families with expert guidance every step of the way.

My background in academics and athletics allows me to assist all types of students!
If I am not at my high school advising students, or on the court/in the sand coaching my players, you can find me spending time with my family (mom, dad, sister, and husband all of whom are educators!) or on the water with my husband and newborn daughter!
I can not wait to meet with you and talk about your goals!
